PARKER GRIFFIN JOINS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY VOICES CONCERNS FELT BY THE ENTIRE NATION

On Tuesday, December 22  Representative Parker Griffin of Alabama announced that he was leaving the Democratic Party to become a Republican.  Griffin declared he longer be in the party because “The Leadership is out on a far left path.”  He added that conservative Democratic “no long had a voice in the party.”

The Greyfalcon commends Representative Griffin for taking a public stand against the Statist agenda that has taken over the Democratic Party.  Though there were 51 House “Blue Dog” Democrats, many of them eventually joined the Pelosi consensus.  Griffin was one of the 39 House Democrats to vote against the bill.  He also voted against Cap and Trade and the Stimulus.

Though Griffin’s defection doesn’t actually provide any tangible advantage to the voting outcomes, as he has opposed every Democratic initiative this year, it may offer something more important. Much of the electorate choose conservative Democrats over Republicans because they see the former as a better advocate for the working man, small business, and cultural conservatives.  They also feel snubbed by the what they call the “Northeast Republican block”, who often attempt to distant themselves from southern Christian pro-life value voters.

Parker Griffin has been consistently pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and pro-business.  As  a doctor who practiced radiation oncology,  he was a staunch opponent to faux care from the start.  “I want to make it perfectly clear that this bill is bad for doctors”.

Earlier this year Griffin announced that he would not support Nancy  Pelosi for House Leader, citing her as being too divisive of a figure.

Remember Nancy Pelosi shaking her fist, holding her note in her hand raving about “these right-wing policies” that were supposedly the cause of the financial crisis.  This type of language is inappropriate for the Speaker of the House, and Griffin called her on it.

He even offered her a referral to get some mental care.

The Greyfalcon finds Griffin to be an asset not only because of the party switch but because of his voting record and his candor.  He is a strong speaker from a part of the nation that is often maligned by the media and the Obama Administration,  just like the Tea Party movement is.

Griffin’s rejection of this agenda is telling because it reflects the frustration  many Democrats felt when they protested at their representatives town hall meeting for health care reform.   His actions thus far have been in tune with the direction of the American Awakening.

Griffins statement revealed a personal identification with the growing citizenship movement.

“I take this step because I believe our nation is at a crossroads and I can no longer align myself with a party that continues to pursue legislation that is bad for our country, hurts our economy and drives us further and further into debt,” Griffith said in a statement. “Unfortunately there are those in the Democratic leadership that continue to push an agenda focused on massive new spending, tax increases, bailouts and a healthcare bill that is bad for our healthcare system”I take this step because I believe our nation is at a crossroads and I can no longer align myself with a party that continues to pursue legislation that is bad for our country, hurts our economy and drives us further and further into debt,” Griffith said in a statement. “Unfortunately there are those in the Democratic leadership that continue to push an agenda focused on massive new spending, tax increases, bailouts and a healthcare bill that is bad for our healthcare system.

What role Griffin will play in this struggle remains to be seen.  But this decision to become a Republican indicates that Democrats may have far bigger problems than may have been previous anticipated.
